Goal: Community

Woodward Academy will foster an environment where all constituencies—regardless of role, age, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, physical and learning differences, and economic background—feel valued and appreciated.

We will achieve these goals through Supporting Strategies (SS) in these key areas. Read below:

Student Population

Actionable Item:Continue conducting NAIS Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism (AIM) Survey on a regular basis.

Woodward will continue to value the breadth of its student population in terms of diversity of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical and learning differences, and economic background, with a particular concern for demonstrating inclusion.

See our steps in Actionable Items.

Hiring Process

12Actionable Item:Position announcements will be broadly advertised, especially in places where persons of color are likely to see them.Actionable Item:We will communicate regularly with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) to identify their alumni as well as Woodward alumni of color, who might be interested in applying for positions at Woodward.
